We saw this sign while cruising around Snoqualmie last weekend. I feel bad for the kid because the bike looks pretty nice.
I would have been devastated if my banana seat bike was stolen – back in 1984 when I was learning how to ride a bike.
Raindrops on Roses
Some of my favorite things today:
1. Nectarines and peaches delivered directly from Eastern Washington to our door by loving grandparents. 
2. Time. Summer is coming to an end and I have loved having time this summer to do things around the house and be with my friends and family. Time is not my own when school starts.
3. Feet pictures drawn by my wonderful sister-in-law Geneviève. I’m in the phase of flip-flops, soon to move to slippers for the colder months.
4. Glazed Lemon Cake. I made it for Barry last week and made it again this week for my lemon-loving grandmother. Recipe from The Silver Palate Cookbook. Yummy.
5. Picture frames. Reminders of time well spent.
Friday Face: Joe Wilbur
Our August Friday face is Joe Wilbur. I met Joe in high school when we sat next to each other in a Civics class. Lara and I were more interested in not paying attention and rallied the other classmates to play an Anacortes High School version of Saved by the Bell.
Joe’s role was AC Slater.
If we were to play a modern day of Saved by the Bell I’m certain that we’d have to make a new character for Joe to play. Since 1997 Joe has become a bit more tattooed, developed his musical talents and come to believe that whiskey is one of his great allies.
Here are some interesting things about Joe:
- He makes amazingly beautiful guitars.
- His family all shares his same smile.
- He & Barry lived together and played baseball together.
- He is really proud of his nephew.
- He likes to bring a cooler full of food when he comes to a BBQ.
- He’ll be turning 29 in few weeks, same day as Barry.
- He’s a philosophy major.

I like to think i’m good at a lot of things. “Jack of all trades master of none” some old man once said to me. Then I suplexed him, but it was only a so-so suplex, not perfectly executed.
What is the most difficult part of your day? Without a doubt, waking up
What is the best part of your day? The parts when I know I can relax for a bit

Most often said phrase? your mother. or i use this joke a lot, “you’re a ______.” do u know that one? Like take whatever someone just said something is and turn it on them, works for anything. (Example: “That’s a nice wall” Then u say, “You’re a nice wall”…and then u get a weird look, it’s funny.)
Favorite food? Almond chicken from Lucky Chopsticks in A-town
Favorite vacation destination? San Juans – I’ve never really been on a real vacation

Do you have a motto? I guess I haven’t nailed down a single creed to live by, there are many cuz life has many aspects to it. Plus being a philosophy major has made me think about things too much sometimes, so i’m thinking about that question way too much and it’s blowing my mind right now. 🙂
