Wrap it Up…

wrapping paper

I’ve never claimed to be good at wrapping gifts, it isn’t a talent of mine and I don’t necessarily aspire to become a gifted wrapper.

(Oh, I’m funny….get it?  “gifted wrapper!” Ha!)

Sorry, I digress. Being someone who doesn’t fancy-up her packages, I always am amazed at people that do. My sister-in-law, for example, is really amazing and creative and her presents should be displayed somewhere unopened because they look so pretty.

I must take after my dad and grandpa in the wrapping category because I think my dad has been using the same roll of newsprint since before I was born, he also uses duct tape. My grandpa once wrapped a gift covered in old Christmas cards taped all over the box for my brother.

This year isn’t any different, but it is the first year that I’ve got wrapping paper that I LOVE. I picked it up at IKEA on my annual ‘back to school’ trip and didn’t know how cool was until a few days ago. It is double sided and it has pink polka dots on it!  Granted, it isn’t at all Christmasy (is that a word?) but I’m still using it.

Maybe I will be a gifted wrapper after all of this. Brew-ha-ha!!

Gifted wrapper.

She’s Baaaaack!

After spending a week at Frat Camp Janet Sydney is finally back at HBHQ; however, all she wants to do is recover from her wild vacation with the Elvrum North Dog Pack. Last night as we were going to bed Barry pointed out how much energy she must exert up at Camp Janet because when she comes back to us she melts into a Puddle of Pug. As my dad put it, we need to put her on the DL to allow for proper recovery. It appears that Sydney put herself on the DL list, so no need to worry. sydney

Wynken, Blynken and Nod, Where are You?

hannah sleep

5:19 a.m.

That is when my eyes decided they were done sleeping.

On my first day of vacation.

After tossing, turning and trying to force myself back to sleep I crawled out of bed and slinked around the house wondering what to do at this early hour. I thought of  my little dog and wondered what she was doing at Camp Janet, most likely sleeping with the rest of the world.

6:46 a.m

This is when I decided to share with you the fact that I can’t sleep, but I just realized all 4 of the HB readers are probably still sleeping all cozy in their flannel sheeted beds.  Please know I admire you for that….on my first day of vacation.
