Relocating the Office

This is Sydney.

This is Sydney’s office. She once put hours and hours in at this location.

But a better office appeared and she jumped at the chance to work at the new location.

Don’t worry, she’s putting in even more hours in her new office. She has so much more room do get things done.

December Bike Vs. Car

December was a cold, but really nice, month for riding.  I was able to log in 7 different rides.  Not bad, since I took a couple weeks off of work for the holidays (I needed time for all the merry making). December also brought about a new low temperature stat to keep track of.  I committed to the idea after passing a bank’s electronic sign that said it was 18 degrees out.  That sign actually started two ideas in my head:

1. Keep track of low and high temperatures ridden in.

2. Grow out the beard.  My face was getting really cold.

I’m not nearly as committed to the beard idea for the length of the challenge, but I’m going to give it a try in January.

The December Stats

Driving 41.4 miles

Riding 92

New Low Temperature: 18 degrees F

I’m starting to create a little bit of space between the riding and driving miles which is good, because I have a feeling I’m going to need it when the summer winds start blowing at Jetty Island.  I think January will be even better, because the PBA (sporting a nice new website) hooked me up with one of the new ORCA cards.  This means I can ride the bus all over Snohomish county.  Very cool indeed.  I used it today to hitch a ride to the YMCA pool.  No car necessary.

Prenatal Learning II

One of the gifts that Phil and Geneviève gave us was a CD for us to start listening to and continue to listen to after the baby is born. We’ve really enjoyed the thoughtful gift ~ with the exception of the track that Sydney barks along to. That one might have to be removed from the playlist once HBaby gets here.

As I type this I’m listening to Joni Mitchell’s Little Green and feeling her kick. ” Just a little green, like the color when the spring is born…”
