Old Blue Eyes

Where did these blue eyes come from?

I know that they still can change.

But of all the things that I had imagined that she’s have – brown eyes was something I knew she’d have.

Goes to show what I know.

I think her blue eyes are a reminder that I can try to plan, but ultimately it really isn’t up to me with certain things.

Plus, these blue eyes aren’t so bad to look at anyhow.

Rain Please Go Away

It is a dark and rainy day here. We went and let the huge rain drops plop on our heads this morning, but now we’re ready for the rain to go away and come again another day.

I was at the grocery store last night and ran across these beauties. Huge marshmallows are totally necessary. They seem like the perfect addition to our camping gear – not that we plan on going camping anytime soon.

Since we don’t have a camping trip planned, I decided to open them up just to see how large they are. Each mallow is like triple the size of a regular one. I’m thinking that after this dang rain goes away, we’ll be outside roasting in our fire pit.

Until that point I think we’ll spend our time resting and waiting for the sun to come back again.

White Noise Her!

I keep thinking that I’ll write about something else besides my fantastic daughter, but, alas, here I am again with another picture and more words about life with Miss Maggie Mae.

I once had a difficult time falling asleep without reading a book or having to have a conversation with Barry. Times have ch-ch-changed!!

I sleep walk through the nights now: feeding, changing, burping and am asleep before my head hits the pillow. I once stuck my nose up at the noise making machines attached to everything baby these days, but I LOVE THE WHITE NOISE MACHINE attached to the bassinet. Love it.

Through the night either Barry or I will nudge the one closest to the bassinet saying, ‘White noise her! White noise her!” when we hear Maggie stir at an ungodly hour. More often than not the white noise only brings a few sweet minutes of slumber, but every so often it really puts Maggie back to sleep…..which means that we too can nod off.

Sweet, sweet sleep. I miss it so.
