Tractor Was Barry’s First Word….

We went to visit G & G Miller last weekend to eat an early Thanksgiving dinner and celebrate Barry’s grandparent’s 64th wedding anniversary.

Greg was puttering about with his tractor, so we took Maggie to check it out and she was fascinated by the big wheels and bright colors!

I’m not sure what she loved more – being on the tractor with Greg or mugging for the camera.

Or maybe she loved having her grandpa hold her so she could play with all the gadgets the tractor had to offer.

**Editor’s Note: Sydney is afraid of the tractor after having a ride on it a few weeks ago. Perhaps one day she’ll warm up to it, but it isn’t looking like that day will be anytime soon.

Rain Please Go Away!

On rainy days, we look like a three ring circus getting ready for our walks and on the walk I’m sure that we look worse. Poor Syd, still hates the rain and poor Mags, she doesn’t like getting bundled up. If she had her option, and she doesn’t right now, she’d never cover her head or toes.

In other news, I have been really enjoying reading on a regular basis lately and it feels oh-so-good! There was a time there where I was worried that I’d never, ever read with any regularity again. I’m not suggesting that I am reading often, but at least I feel confident in sticking with the same book from front to back cover.

I think my book group will be thankful to have me back because I have continued to attend,  but have only been able to engage in the conversation half heartily. On the other hand, maybe they don’t really care if I’ve read the book or not….our conversations sometimes don’t always focus on the book anyhow.

3G sent us home with some stew tonight for dinner and we’ve got the tea kettle on…perhaps I’ll settle up with my book for a short bit tonight.

Stand in the Place Where You Live

Maggie’s preferred hobby lately is to stand and she is getting better at pulling herself up on things that are at the perfect height. Her balance amazes me because now she can just hold on to one index finger and stand.

Just today I counted to 30 as she stood with no support. I know that crawling is necessary, but I think this girl isn’t going to be crawling for long since she loves standing so passionately. We’re working on crawling, but it always ends with her standing on her feet, rocking back and forth.

We read about 99 books today and chewed on every toy that we’ve got. Maggie also seemed to be dressed in her Cranky Pants today, which is strange because I swear that I put a super cute dress on that girl! I think the Littlest Hooligan is about to sprout a couple more teeth. I can’t see them or feel them, but based on her behavior these past couple days I’m going to be shocked if they don’t show up sooner than later.

This has got to be the the most mommiest post I’ve done in a while.

Sorry.
