Fine, I’ll admit I’ve had my nose in it since I got it….just don’t ask me to put it down.
It is written by Courtney Kendrick and I bought the fancy book form. Yes, it was more spendy, but now I have a super fancy book to add to my collection. The primary focus of the book is not what is currently happening in her life (caring for her sister’s children), but more her struggle with infertility and funny anecdotes about her friends and family.
It all started this summer when I decided to become BRIDEZILLA for a few months. There is a long convoluted story behind what led me to this precious book….one that involves Mormons, blogs and weddings. I touched on it a bit here, but that is just the tip of the iceberg. I have been SO touched by this woman’s writing. I have been inspired by what she has faced as a sister, daughter, aunt, wife, mother, and blogger since August.
Enough blogging, I’ve got to get back to my blog book. Want to borrow it when I’m done?
On second thought, get your own, I’m not ready to share.
I’ve made an amazing discovery. Well, actually Izak pointed out a bit of amazing iPhone technology to me – The headphones that ship with the phone have a microphone in them. Yeah. Hands free goodness in my earbuds. Never again will an exchange like the one that happened the other day occur*:
Caller: hello
Me: hey, what’s up?
Caller: uh, am I on speaker phone?
Me: yeah, does it sound a little tinny?
Caller: it does, but at least you’re driving legally.
Me: well, I’m actually sitting at my computer, but it’s easier to type without holding the phone to my ear.
Called: safe typing is important… Listen do you think you can quit multitaking and just pick up the phone. It’s kinda hard to hear you.
Me: oh, fine. But I’m blaming you if this blog post doesn’t get written.
*names have been changed to protect the innocent.

Anyway, thanks Izak. I feel my productivity shooting way way up.
Will the iPhone make me a better person? Probably not, but I have a feeling it will make me a more frequent poster. Actually, I’m making this post from the phone right now. Amazing!
HBadventure is back up and running. This time around we’re using WordPress, and it sure makes life a lot easier for me as a poster. I did feel a sense of accomplishment knowing that the first version of HBadventure was coded up from scratch by yours truly. On the other hand, it was a royal pain for anyone but myself to make a post. No longer will authors have to remember how to link to another page using html, because WordPress handles it. I love a good angle bracket mark up as much as the next web geek, but there’s something to be said for simplicity and my initial impression is that this blogging engine is going make things really simple.
I hope people enjoy the new blog, and I hope that we’ll be able to start posting with regularity once again.
