Ending 08

I feel like I should be ending 2008 on a high note, and starting 2009 on the right foot. Fortunately, Santa hooked me up with just the thing. Michael Phelps Frosted Flakes. Okay, so it’s not exactly Wheaties, but I think it will get the job done. Phelps is on the box after all. I’m probably going to be setting personal bests in the pool all year long.

Things I’ve learned after 4 months of marriage

It seems like the end of the year is always a good time to do a count-down or two, so I figured I’d get into the act with a little HB flavored count down.

  • We like each other a lot
  • We really like our house
  • We like our dog, We like our dog too much, How do you not write about stuff like this?
  • It doesn’t bother me to wear my wedding ring at all. I actually have quit even noticing it at all. I don’t think anyone has ever confused me with Mr T., so I was a little worried that the ring might make my finger itch unbearably.
  • Being married has not made me a better craftsman.
  • Being married has not changed Hannah’s desire to pile her things in strange places. Does the phone really charge better at the bathroom sink? Should flip flops be set on the dinner table?
  • My bike still gets flats…. A lot of them.
  • Hannah’s bike still gets flats too.
  • Mother Nature does not care that we are married. Let’s face it. We live in Washington. It’s gonna rain.
  • In Hannah’s mind, Oprah versus Monday Night Football is not a contest. Oprah wins every time. It doesn’t matter who’s on the show.
  • In my mind, Oprah versus Monday Night Football is not a contest. MNF wins every time. It doesn’t matter who’s playing, or that the channel is fuzzy because we don’t actually pay for ESPN. Speaking of which, being married has not given me the power to actually hear what is being said on the fuzzy ESPN channel. I keep hoping.
  • I’m still a big fan of cookies.
  • Hannah is a geek.
  • Wearing business socks to bed does not actually promote getting down to business.
  • It’s a crummy time to be a sports fan in Seattle. (Hey, I never said this was going to be all about marriage)
  • Ponds hold a lot of water. Sometimes they leak.
  • When you go out furniture shopping, it’s important to know the size of the room you are trying to fill.

Hannah is Hiding Pictures

I was searching for a picture frame to use in the new pumpkin room, and found one with a couple pictures stashed away in it. It seemed like a good frame candidate, so I started to pull the old pictures out. There were a couple of Hannah and me, and some landscape shots. Tucked away at the bottom of the pile was a picture of some guy.

He looks vaguely familiar, but I can’t quite place him. Don’t get me wrong. I’m not really worried. He is wearing socks with his sandals.
